Friday night, as members of Congress and the Senate make their way to private meetings to try and stop the United States government from shutting down, muliple sources have confirmed that they have heard that President Trump, frustrated by the lack of support, will resign if a deal is not made by midnight Friday night.
Proof of the statment can be found on President Trump’s own Twitter feed where he has stated “In 25 years, in 50 years, 100 years from now, when they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States,” he added. “They’re not going to be talking who the head of the House was, the head of the Senate. … I really think the pressure is on the president.”
Earlier, Trump told radio personality host Hugh Hewitt that “If they, (The GOP) had stuck together they would have won that battle, I think you have to in this case also, yes.” President Trump again stated that if there is a government shut down it has to lay on the President’s shoulders.
A source close to President Trump, ‘Paul’ stated that Trump is angry and taking it out on everyone knowing he will be a laughing stock. As ‘Paul” stated, “Trump feels he can communicate better with concrete and buiding guys, not these guys in the swamp.”
